Whilst I was busy helping the House of Blueeyes bring fierceness and love unbridled to Vauxhall Fashion Scout on Saturday (Pat's ferocious pics most likely coming up tomorrow so watch this space!), my latest and greatest gift from the fashion gods, an assistant to call my very own, was busy helping with the heavy lifting that it is to whisper whilst you fashion week. Hence, dearest whisperatti, I'd like to introduce you to the lovely Saskia Verhagen aka the "Assistant Whisperer" and for a review of PPQ and numerous more to come, I shall leave you in her very capable budding fashionista (and perfectly manicured) hands.
Meet Saskia aka the "Assistant Whisperer"
Full name: Saskia Thérèse Verhagen - my middle name is after an island in the Seychelles which my dad owned once upon a long time ago... I'm half-Dutch, half-Indian, full-British and a 100% London girl. A 3rd year medical student at Imperial College, I juggle my two worlds: art and science. Kristin is like the big sister I always wanted - we're both mixed citizens with academia in the blood and fashion on the brain.
Favourite designers: I love bold, bright designs full of personality but well-cut and beautifully finished. Top 5? The late Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta, Miu Miu, Chanel, Giambattista Valli...
What she's seen so far this LFW: Of the shows so far, my absolute favourite has to be Matthew Williamson - incredible prints, luxe furs and beautiful deep colours for Autumn is just my cup of tea. Milk and one sugar please.
What she's looking forward to: Basso and Brooke - bring on the prints!

Little did we know that the black and gold invite would serve as a prelude to what was coming at the PPQ show; one might have thought that such a binding colour story could have been pushing a theme too far but PPQ produced a wearable, well-made collection. Featuring black as the base of most pieces in heavy felts, sexy stretch jersey and in the fabulously tailored little dresses and jackets, gold featured in the form of splashes of leather, leopard-print metallic brocade and lurex frills, adding a touch of design pizzazz to proceedings. Standout piece has to be the little black romper, with tailored jacket detailing and super-short shorts!
