The soft draping silk and cotton curvaceous separates, the butter soft leather sleeveless trench dresses and skin-tight bikers complete with arms composed of a strawlike fringing (actually a viscose fiber, soft to the touch)--Roland Mourets Spring/Summer collection was one of Butters' favorites at the TCS press day. The fact that the splint ends of her puffy tail could blend seamlessly with the fringing, which even came in a bracelet/choker combination which doubled as doggy collar, had nothing to do with it.But the dizzyingly sexy shifts in bright red overlaid with leather ribcages, draping lightweight cashmeres and black and white pajama suits had everything to do with it. The designer from whom Victoria Beckham certainly did not rip off the ever so original feat of design that is exposing a large zipper all the way down the back of a body-con shift, has de-kitsched the A/W gorilla sleeve-arm-warmer-thingies of Ferragamo and Giles Deacon and produced a chic new accessory for the girl with a little bit of Pommy daring in her for spring. Remember the haystack at Chanel? And the farm theme at Ralph Lauren? Brace yourselves for a roll in the hay this spring, ladies. Best part? That Emma Somerset jacket I tried on at Bang Bang is a consignment doppleganger for some of RM's pieces. It's still there, just waiting tucked downstairs at the Goodge Street store. On your mark, get set...
